The LCA class from Archbishop McHale College Tuam visited the Tuam Cancer Care Centre today to learn about the services provided and to take a tour of the building. Thank you to the students, who as part of their Enterprise class created Cody’s Cookies: Cake Sale & Raffle and raised a very generous €657.80 for Tuam Cancer Care
Second Year German students recently posted their letters to students in Anne Frank Realschule in Ahaus, Germany. Wir freuen uns schon auf die Antworten. In Archbishop McHale College, we strive to make learning real for our students and what better way to do that than by corresponding with native speakers of our target languages? #spassbeimdeutschlernen#freunde
Positive Mental Health Week in Archbishop McHale College has gotten off to a great start. On Monday, Third and Sixth Years engaged with a workshop to help manage anxiety, to speak about self-compassion and to practice mindfulness techniques with Anna Newell, Mark and Niamh from Primary Care Psychology. First and Second Years spent the day focusing on setting targets for themselves, building resilience and working in teams to meet goals with Jeff Allen, who is a member of the Irish Defence Forces Army Ranger Wing. Today, First and Second Years are taking part in mindfulness and yoga workshops and Transition Years head off to Petersburg for an overnight active adventure. At lunch time, a mindful art session will take place in the art room.
